Danny Kanell has message for Alabama: âGeorgia is gonna boat race Bama next weekâ
Danny Kanell saw enough of Alabama’s 27-24 win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl to have formed an opinion on the Tide’s chances against Georgia.
Not long after Jalen Milroe and Isaiah Bond rescued No. 8 Alabama’s College Football Playoff hopes, connecting for a last-minute touchdown on fourth-and-goal from the 31 to beat Auburn 27-24, the former Florida State quarterback already was looking to the SEC Championship Game.

“Georgia is gonna boat race Bama next week,” Kanell posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Thankfully, I snatched up UGa -4.”
Kanell, who hosts “Dusty and Danny” on SiriusXm Ch 84,” has been known as an anti-SEC guy for some time now. After then-No. 3 Alabama’s 34-24 loss to then-No. 11 Texas in Week 2, Kanell declared Alabama’s domination dead.
“We need to be honest about Bama instead of trying to sugarcoat this game and talk about them getting to the playoffs,” he posted in September. “They just got pushed around at home. They have issues at QB. They are not disciplined. Their days of dominating are done.”

Since then, of course, the Tide has rolled.
On Saturday, Milroe found Bond in the left corner of the end zone with 32 seconds left to give the Crimson Tide (11-1, 8-0 SEC, No. 8 CFP) a 10th straight win in the latest dramatic Iron Bowl at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Trailing by four with 1:43 left, Alabama had first-and-goal at the Auburn 7 before moving backward. The Crimson Tide lost 18 yards on a bad snap and were pushed back 5 more yards with an illegal downfield pass on third down after Milroe crossed the line of scrimmage.
